Presently, GSMPTTI operates under the patronage of SWADHIN- a charitable trust that was established in 2012. Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic, Shantiniketan D.Ed College, Shantiniketan College of Education, and Shantiniketan Private ITI have all been the light-bearers of the society prior to switching to the foundation of this institute. This college started with the mission to offer elementary teacher’s education conducted by NCTE- National Council For Teacher Education to the students of D.Ed.
